The Catalonia Mountains

 


The wind blows strongly from the mountains

The snow smell envelops the watcher

seeing but not seeing the mountain plateau

high desert, dry and hot




orange and brown trees teasing the base of the blue slopes

ploughed fields and cut grapevines showing human intrusion on an otherwise tranquil scene 

majestic and  steadfast


blue black silhouettes against the sky's luminous light as the sun goes to visit the other side of the earth rock deep in space

the result of the explosion within.

The blackness of the night sky so far beyond humanities reach but not their dreams

The cold is coming 






Dusk descends without warning and the moon takes the place of the sun 

shedding a different light onto the rock in space.

  The mistakes that we make in our life are the teachers in the journey. We   may not notice the mistake or brush it off but by taking notice and learning the lesson that is being taught at the time will prevent the mistake from reoccurring and even at greater force than before. The Power of Trees

My arrival here in France coincides with late Autumn or early Winter. Naturally it means beautiful colours in all the trees and shrubs that lose their leaves when the cold really arrives. The fruit trees that grow locally such as the Brugonon, which is a favourite of the local Catalon people of this area, and which is a cross between a peach and a plum, have almost all lost their leaves with the end of the fruiting season. Photo courtesy of  Helen Parkes Of course in the Southern hemisphere they are experiencing the growth that comes with the late spring and early summer so everything is green and colourful in a very different way. Look at the picture opposite. This is the Pohutukawa or Native Christmas Tree which can be found in the northern coastal areas of Aotearoa, New Zealand.  The flowers are loved by bees and the honey is a creamy white, sweet and delicious. The Red Sky

The sky flamed red today A reminder that rain can come The colours came into my heart filling the soul with sun power I remember the mornings of light feeling the presence of the natural world  Beauty not reliant on humanity The bells around the necks of the cows clanging in the distance during the dark too early even for birdsong Then as the sky changes to orange and then yellow the birds sing they welcome a new day of feasting I loved watching the sunrise its majesty and strong energy contained in the colour of a blood heart beating out the day to come.
