Mistakes

Image
The mistakes that we make in our life are the teachers in the journey. We   may not notice the mistake or brush it off but by taking notice and learning the lesson that is being taught at the time will prevent the mistake from reoccurring and even at greater force than before. I have made many mistakes in my life and unfortunately as a sometimes-slow learner in life’s classroom I have experienced the harsh realities that come with such repeated mistakes. With all mistakes made and especially where they hurt another I reflect later and then suffer internally for what I have said and done. Sometimes an apology from ones heart will correct an error made against another but as a wise woman once said to me after I bruised her spirit with my impulsive, ungoverned harsh words, “I do not have to accept your apology”. That statement was a big wake up call for me at the time and has sat with me for a long time after possibly moderating my words towards others to be less hurtful and ...

The Graveyard and the Mountain

Image
I stand in a graveyard looking at the stone boxes. Famille, Familia, Family Those that once were living above the ground and under the stars.       Their remains lay here with snowcapped mountains watching. They, who have lived much longer than humanity knows. Who are still there. Strong and alive Watching the movement of people,  animals and plants on their very roots that are connected to the inner fire at the centre. The graveyard stone in grey and white that are from the mountains and therefore part of the living earth. They hold memory of those who have passed just like the mountain holds memory of the earth before people, and even its beginning long long ago from an exploding star scattering its fragments through the galaxy of its own birth. The Mountain however remains steadfast and silent watching and considering, a reminder  that the earth is old but still alive, long after the passing of those lyi...

The Catalonia Mountains

Image
The wind blows strongly from the mountains The snow smell envelops the watcher seeing but not seeing the mountain plateau high desert, dry and hot orange and brown trees teasing the base of the blue slopes ploughed fields and cut grapevines showing human intrusion on an otherwise tranquil scene   majestic and  steadfast blue black silhouettes against the sky's luminous light as the sun goes to visit the other side of the earth rock deep in space the result of the explosion within. The blackness of the night sky so far beyond humanities reach but not their dreams The cold is coming  Dusk descends without warning  and the moon takes the place of the sun  shedding a different light onto the rock in space.

The Red Sky

Image
The sky flamed red today A reminder that rain can come The colours came into my heart filling the soul with sun power I remember the mornings of light feeling the presence of the natural world  Beauty not reliant on humanity The bells around the necks of the cows clanging in the distance during the dark too early even for birdsong Then as the sky changes to orange and then yellow the birds sing they welcome a new day of feasting I loved watching the sunrise its majesty and strong energy contained in the colour of a blood heart beating out the day to come.

The Secret to Receiving Miracles in Your Life

Image
Today I watched a replay of a presentation hosted by two women, Marci Shimoff and Dr Sue Morter. The title of the presentation was “ 3 Secrets to Living a Miraculous Life  masterclass”. The advertisement for the presentation was on my Facebook as I was scrolling through looking at friends posts the other day. The advert reminded me of a book that I came across several years called “The Secret”. It piqued my interest, so I decided for the sake of my continued spiritual growth and my all-consuming curiosity which keeps me open and learning to enroll in the free online class. Because of the time difference between the United States, the site of the class, and where I am right now in France, I kept missing the presentations until today in my email I received an invitation to watch a replay of the class I missed. What was revealed in the class was not new information to me-not because I am some highly evolved individual who has completely sorted out herself and her ...

Empty Places For The Homeless?

Image
As I drive through the small villages in the French Countryside near Limoges many houses shut up with no one inside. A beautiful castle all closed with the people all gone. Abandoned? Maybe not. Empty and standing alone for sure, and yet there are homeless so what is wrong. The disconnect from the reality. The problem of the new society now. Who will care for the castles, the houses and farms empty of the people who gave them life before. As we drive through the villages and see how empty they are, the young people gone, looking for a place to work as there is no paid work there or here anymore. There is no trust to allow the work that is evident there to be done by those who have nothing except their youth and energy to give. They could breathe life into neglected spaces and change them into something else, yet these places that are empty stay empty and unloved. Only the rich have enough to manage to stay. Old men and women who live out the rest of their life in distance from th...

The Power of Trees

Image
My arrival here in France coincides with late Autumn or early Winter. Naturally it means beautiful colours in all the trees and shrubs that lose their leaves when the cold really arrives. The fruit trees that grow locally such as the Brugonon, which is a favourite of the local Catalon people of this area, and which is a cross between a peach and a plum, have almost all lost their leaves with the end of the fruiting season. Photo courtesy of  Helen Parkes Of course in the Southern hemisphere they are experiencing the growth that comes with the late spring and early summer so everything is green and colourful in a very different way. Look at the picture opposite. This is the Pohutukawa or Native Christmas Tree which can be found in the northern coastal areas of Aotearoa, New Zealand.  The flowers are loved by bees and the honey is a creamy white, sweet and delicious. The tree itself offers welcome shade at the beach for those who wish to avoid the damaging rays of a NZ summer su...
